Highlights from the 2025 DHA Business Leadership Summit

From September 10–12, pet care professionals from across the globe gathered in Chicago for the second annual Dog Handler Academy Business Leadership Summit. Over three days, attendees explored real-world strategies, shared candid conversations, and left with fresh ideas to elevate their businesses and empower their teams.

What We Covered

The sessions were designed to address the most pressing challenges in pet care leadership. Topics included:

  • Creating memorable customer experiences without increasing costs
  • Building effective emergency preparedness plans for facilities
  • Improving staff organization and daily operations
  • Boosting employee retention and workplace engagement
  • Choosing tax-efficient business structures
  • Managing labor costs and optimizing scheduling
  • Designing incentive programs that actually motivate teams

Each session offered practical tools and fresh perspectives that attendees could take home and apply immediately.

What Attendees Took Away

Across the board, attendees expressed how valuable it was to step away from their day-to-day routines and focus on big-picture growth. Many left feeling more confident in their leadership, more connected to their teams, and more equipped to tackle challenges with clarity and purpose.

The Summit wasn’t just about learning—it was about aligning, recharging, and building a stronger foundation for the future of pet care.

Looking Ahead

Plans are already in motion for next year’s Business Leadership Summit, and we’re excited to build on the momentum. While dates and details are still being finalized, we’re working hard to bring the same energy, insight, and connection to our next event.

Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing updates soon, and we can’t wait to see you there!
